2010 CHRISTIAN POETRY COMPETITION

This is our current competition for Christian poems.

Poems should be a maximum of 32 lines, including line spaces. Poems must be original and unpublished work and should not have already been submitted or be entered into other competitions until after adjudication. The name of the poet should not be included on the manuscript. All poems must be typed in single-line spacing on one side of A4 paper. Entries should be in Arial font, size 12 and left-justified. Please do not use staples, use paperclips instead. Poems must be submitted in English or Scots.

The closing date for receipt of entries is 30th May 2010.

1st Prize: £150, three runners-up prizes: £10 each.

Entry fee is £4.00 per poem, or three poems for £10.00.

Do not submit your only copy, as entries cannot be returned.

Winners will be notified and listed on this website as soon as possible after adjudication. Their winning entries will be included in the CrossWords 2010 anthology and they will receive a free copy. Other entrants whose poems are selected for publication will also get a free copy.

THE ANTHOLOGY MAY BE PUBLISHED LATER THAN PLANNED IF THERE IS AN INSUFFICIENT NUMBER OF GOOD QUALITY POEMS ENTERED. NOTICE REGARDING THIS WILL APPEAR ON THIS PAGE.

A portion of any income from the competition will be donated to Bethany Christian Trust, a charity that provides help and support for the homeless.

To enter, download an entry form by clicking here.  If you are having problems downloading an entry form, please contact Marc Madill and a copy will be emailed to you.

If you prefer, you can use PayPal (below) to pay your entry fee(s). Otherwise, please send a UK postal order or a cheque drawn on a UK bank with your entry.
