ANNE TRAILL
Anne Traill comes
from Airdrie originally. She graduated
from Glasgow University, then went to Aberdeen to do her teacher training,
where she met her husband, Graeme, who is from Aberdeen. Her joint
degree is in French and German. Anne
went straight into teaching both languages and, although she gave up her
permanent post at Robert Gordon’s College when her first child, Alison, was
born, she continued to do little bits and pieces from time to time until her
second boy was five years old, when she got a permanent part-time post at
Portlethen Academy. This involved two, then three and eventually four,
days a week. She never quite got round
to full-time before she retired last year! Anne is still on the supply
list and does one or two days now and then at various schools. Because
she has always had some time at home, she was able to be involved in the
community.
Anne was brought
up in a Christian family and has always gone to church regularly, even as a
teenager. Her church had a thriving
youth club. She can't ever remember not trusting God. Anne
was originally a member of the Methodist church but moved to Deeside
Christian Fellowship when her children were young because it was local and
had a lively Sunday School.
